A cross means so many things to me and impacts me so greatly, I find it hard to put into words. I found a variety of explanations from Worship Without Words, by Patricia S. Mein. According to her, the cross symbolizes "atonement and humankind's redemption. " She states, " Through this instrument of death has come life, life as it can flow only from God: fresh, vibrant, and unending." I guess two words that come to my mind are grace and hope.
